March 28 - Christ's entry into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday,). The Jews had the custom: kings and winners entered Jerusalem on horses or donkeys, and people with solemn cries, with palm branches in their hands, greeted them. Fulfilling the prophecies of the Old Testament (see Zech. 9,9), Christ entered Jerusalem in a such solemn way, but not as King of Earth or the winner in the war, but as well as King, whose kingdom is not of this world (John 18.36), as the winner over sin and death.
